Just when I was crying a strange violet light invaded my cell and I was transported in a fraction of seconds to another Plane, where I saw Dr. Spencer Lewis with a palette in his right hand. It is necessary, extremely necessary, that Veritas Vincit. Get this palette and do it, not for me, but for Maat -he said...and disappears!! I baptized this mystical palette as "Veritas Vincit" and using it I created the Frater Velado's Art Gallery, where I'm exposing some paintings about Rosicrucianism and on human drama. This was, for me, my most important experience with Dr. Harvey Spencer Lewis." What kind of mystical and Rosicrucian experience is it, Brother Vicente Velado? Can you describe it for us? FV - Yes, my brotha, I can. Some jackass (all of them know that I am hermit) sent me pornographic photos with abjections as prostitutes eating excrement just expelled from the ass of a sexual partner. I meditate on this aggressions and transformed all photos by Rosicrucian Alchemic Process, creating on all of them a series of paintings currently available in a separate section of the General Index of my Art Gallery, where I captured the soul of these public girls: pure as the soul of anyone, only by the moment blemished by some dark shadows of the Duality of this Plane, Earth. I express here my profound respect for all prostitutes: she cannot be discriminated or judged by his profession, consequence of an ancient unjust social structure. KA - What the act of creation (of a piece of Art) represents for you? FV - This creation for me represents a service. Each one that take a look on my paintings will forced to think on its real significance. When a person is conducted to this kind of think a mystical process is started in background: the person do not perceives it immediatly, but an inner transformation begins inside his conscience; then, this manner used to see the world and the beings can be changed to a superior form. It is an authentic initiation. A minor initiation, but an initiation. Because this strange, mysterious and enigmatic characteristics some of my Rosicrucian paintings are essentially initiatic. Note that I'm not the Initiator, but only the propitiator. KA - What influence you have in your artworks from other painters, Frater Velado? FV - I cannot considered an visual art expert as an appreciator before the Initiation of the Mystical Palette Veritas Vincit. But I suppose that I must have any influence from my father, Emeric Marcier. FV - I'm using Adobe Photoshop and my input device is just the original mouse of my Compaq Presario: Pentium III, 2 x 40GB HDD, 512MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 32MB, Operating System Windows XP Professional. I also used a tablet, Wacon Graphire 2. In the future perhaps I will migrate to a Mac. In the beginning of my visual artistic work I used a PC Pentium 200, mounted by myself, running OS/2 Warp 4.5 as Operating System and my soft for Art was Embellish. THE DIGITAL-MATRIX PROCESS Below the Artist describes what exactly is the revolutionary pictorial process that he has invented: Normally, the creation of an oil on canvas begins with a sketch by the old and traditional crayon. Then, the painter makes the necessary corrections and starts the painting using normal brushes. The Digital-Matrix Process is not a mysterious arrangement and doesn't requires the use of any secret and fantastic software. Simply it replaces the crayon by a digital image that you have created using a graphic editor as Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Corel Painter etc. If you are a sophisticated graphic designer, as a professional illustrator, you can take advantage of enhanced hardware as Wacom tablet, Graphire or Intuos series. But you can do the same task using a simple mouse. Normally, digital art is not valorized, because uses few colors and have not dramatic effects; it is just illustrations for books, posters, video-games and other cyber-images. Usually digital art have not a metaphysical compromise or politic engagement. It is considered by experts in Art a minor kind of Art. The real value of a piece of Art is a value relative: if the author is an important person, his works acquires this importance and also the reverse is the truth (good workmanship can turn important a person). But I'm sure that digital art can be also a superior kind of Art if behind the tablet exist a not prostituted person, and this event depends only of who is who before the computer-creator. Digital artists have formed a concept that now is a "gold rule": filters as Photoshop effects cannot be used in any circumstance and the artist must use only his hands and his brain. Da Vinci, the Pope of Photoshop, founder of Insane Creators Enterprise, emphasises the difference between images painted and images filtered and I recommend that you visit his web site, at http://davinci.ice.org in order to read his tutorials and take a look on his fine images, all created with his hands only. Hi have profound respect for Da Vinci, since the Phrozen Crew times. I recommend that you take a look on the fish and on the dragon by Da Vinci. Well, I'm not accept any tabus and I consider that if filters exist anyone can use all of them to generate the final effect. That is my personal opinion and I use and abuse of filters in order to create consistent virtual matter. Just using these "prohibited" tools I can create the effect in the image-matrix that will be generate strong oil-matter on the canvas. I never studied painting, design etc. I started painting after a Rosicrucian Initiation, when Dr. Harvey Spencer Lewis sent me the Mystical Palette Veritas Vincit. I'm not a purist or a theoretic painter from any high school of Art... I'm only a simple self-taught painter trying the mystical path of Art, compromised with Rosicrucian Principles, Ethics parameters and Cosmic Laws. I have a message to all men and women interested in peace, harmony and evolution of the entire Humanity and I'm continuously trying to send it through my pictures. I invented the Digital-Matrix Process in order to save time and save space: I create an oil on canvas from a matrix only for sell this painting in order to maintain me and the hermitage (St. Michael Archangel Hermitage, in Brazil, South America), where I live since 1995 as a real hermit, under the Rule of Benedict through just eight years. As a Rosicrucian, Member for Life of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, founded by Dr. Lewis, I'm also Christian and my roots are the Catholicism. But my position before the actual religious system, in the Society of Consumption, is simple: when a religion is used to make war the God of this religion is just the Devil. This position have created several problems for me and some people rejected my art just because some paintings I have created, as "Uranium on Iraq", "Terror of War" and more, that you can see in the section "Masters of War" of my Art Gallery. But it is my authentic and honest position and I will not change it and that is all. Some collectors and execs of important companies buy my paintings and to me this is a proof of I am in the right artistic and mystic path. Note that the artistic painting needs not a lot of details for to be expressive, because painting is a manner highly subjective of expression, an art essentially metaphysical. When I create a portrait of a being (human or other animal), I'm not making a photo or an illustration: for me the important is to portray the soul of this being, his personality. Illustrations are other kind of visual work and needs details in order to be accept (and approved) by consumers. But many painters, ancient and moderns, like perfeccionism and details. In this case, if you are a digital artist, you have to replace your mouse by an efficient tablet with 1200 levels of pressure. In both cases the important is the sincerity: you cannot prostitute your inner values in order to merelly make money, OK? People ask me about details of the process I use for generate oil on canvas from a digital image and many persons thinks that I use a process similar to the actually offered in shopping centers...Well, this process that I use is not secret, is not am industrial secrecy. I simply projects the digital image on a blank (white painted) canvas and transform this projection in a reality using the old and traditional method, with brushes. I invented this process, but I do not pretend to be is owner or its patent holder. If you believes that you can do an oil on canvas using my process simple create a digital image, then project it on a canvas and go ahead. Simple, uh?
