I believe that we are each precious and perfect children of one Creator who is both within us and around us. That is where our unity derives. I believe that the spiritual realm IS - now and forever.
Justice and compassion need to be interwoven if we are to help to heal the cosmos. This begins in individual hearts and households, and expands beyond our wildest expectations. I am very involved in activism on women's issues and human rights. I speak up!

My primary interests are in exploring the depths of spirituality, on
the one hand, and the tools of scholarship (social science & humanities)
to address the social crises of our time, notably our cultural of
violent solutions and its consequences -- war, poverty, ecological
destruction, etc. I am doing research on Gandhi's legacies (especially in India) and have been exploring spirituality out my own Quaker faith community and other traditions (esp. Buddhist). I have written a book called Gods in the Global Village (Pine Forge/Sage) that some members of this community may find interesting. I also edited a 3-vol. Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace, and Conflict(Academic Press, 1999), and co-edited a book on nonviolent social movements (Blackwell's, 1998 or '99)...

Having spent many years trying to jump off the fence on both sides, I have come down firmly grounded in my spirituality.
I believe in a living God who gave all for love of mankind through the crucifixion of His Son. I believe God is Love and Love is Giving.
Since I have made a definite commitment to one side of the fence, life has gained meaning and purpose. It is an awesome adventure.
My purpose lies within the world of electronic communication. It has taken many forms. The most prominently displayed are www.hopeandspirit.com and www.spiritualsisters.com....
