Construction of abstractions from one primitive element
Sketch |

We want to build objects out of one primitive
What is that one primitive?
Is it a simple object? a difference? a distinction? a value? an interval?
what is an abstract object?
what is a dimension?
why is this an advantageous thing to do?
all concepts emerge from the continuum
and are constructed from the continuum from atonic-level distinctions or dimensions
how is a distinction a dimension?
distinctions are built from differences
differences in color or shape or basic sensory dimensions
what is the continuum?
how does a distinction emerge from the continuum?
how is that distinction coded - symbolically or in memory or in visualization?

In particular, as an interesting and possibly fruitful example, we want to look at Barry Smith's concept of
Object property
A generalization of the concept of "property" -- "property of an object"
or -- how two objects in the class hierarchy are related to each oother
those choices are

So, the investigation is
1) can we construct all objects that are going to be linked to the objects we discuss in terms of dimensions?
2) can these general object properties be defined in terms of dimensions?
